Uruguay. We take a Ferry, from Tigre Dock at Buenos Aires
Province that will take three hours to arrive at Nueva Palmira

Activities:
We arrive at Nueva Palmira´s harbor at 10.30 a.m. and
after passing the local custom-house we start biking this
calm and peaceful country. Nueva Palmira has a nice beach
and a 60´s air that transport us to other times. After
leaving the tiny city and after leaving the Harbor we´ll
arrive to "Punta Gorda" where history says that
Charles Darwin stopped during his investigation world tour
that he did during the XIV century at the "Beagle"
seeking for the diverse minerals, fauna and flora of different
continents. There we´ll also find the landmark where
"Río Uruguay" becomes "Río de
la Plata" being the widest river in the world.
Then, after a short and calm uphill, we arrive in road 21
heading east to arrive to "Capilla de Narbona",
a national Uruguayan monument, old chapel did during the 1600´s
by Spanish inside a big ranch that produced cattle. The Chapel
has one metre wide walls and tunnels, that were used to protect
Spanish from attacking Indians. Two brothers of the Argentinian
Hero Jose de San Martín were born here, while his father
worked as a manager of the Ranch.
From the Chapel we cross the oldest bridge in Uruguay and
arrive for our lunch at Zagarzazú, a beautiful beach
surrounded by pines and eucalyptus just in front of "Río
de la Plata". From the beach we do the last seven km
to arrive in Carmelo and take the boat back to Buenos Aires.
